Windows 10 Tip: Make Libraries Show Up in File Explorer

The Windows 10 File Explorer is a lot different from the File Explorer that users are used to. While the new File Explorer has a lot of neat features, it has also removed features from the previous File Explorer which users are not happy about. One of the features that the new File Explorer does not support is Libraries, which is a folder that contains shortcuts to other folders as well as files. Users can create as many libraries as they want and then pin them to their Windows Explorer window, which is a great way of keeping shortcuts to different folders and files in one place.

However, the new File Explorer does not have the option to create a library or pin one to the Explorer window, which is a feature that a lot of users are missing. However, there is a way to make the new File Explorer support Libraries, and you can use the following method to make your new File Explorer window support Libraries:

Method 1: Add the Libraries Folder

The first thing that you can do is create a Libraries folder and place it somewhere on your computer so that it is available in File Explorer. If you have a large number of Libraries, you should create a folder specifically meant for Libraries, and then place that folder on your computer. After that, you need to navigate to that folder in File Explorer, right-click on it and click Pin to this list. You can then drag and drop the Libraries folder wherever you want it to be and it will be pinned to the File Explorer window.

Another way to do this is to click on the Up One Level button that appears when you hover over the Libraries folder, and then right-click on the Libraries folder and click Pin to this list. You can then move the Libraries folder wherever you want it to be and it will be pinned to the File Explorer window.

If you want to pin multiple libraries to your File Explorer window, you can simply copy the Libraries folder and paste it into the File Explorer window, and then repeat the steps above for each one of the Libraries.

Method 2: Create a New Library in File Explorer

If you don’t have that much stuff in your Libraries folder, or you don’t want to go through the hassle of creating a folder just for Libraries, you can simply create a new library in File Explorer. This is a lot easier than the other method, and the new File Explorer window will pretty much do the rest of the work for you.

All you need to do is right-click on an empty space in your File Explorer window and click on New > Library. After that, you can choose the library that you want to create and it will be created in your File Explorer window.

Method 3: Use a Third-Party App

If you want to get Libraries back for your new File Explorer window but you don’t want to go through the hassle of creating a Libraries folder, you can use a third-party app to do the work for you. There are a lot of apps out there that will attempt to bring the Libraries back in your new File Explorer window, but the one that gives the best results is called Libraries Fixer.

Using the Libraries Fixer app is pretty easy. All you need to do is download and run the app, and then click on the Restore Libraries button. The app will then add the Libraries folder to your File Explorer window, and you can then use it just like you would on the older versions of Windows.

All of these methods will pretty much give you the same results. Of course, the first method requires a bit of work on your part, but it is the best way if you want to do it the “right” way. Method 2 is also a great alternative that is almost as good as the first method, and it does not require you to create a new directory on your computer. However, if you want to get Libraries back on your new File Explorer window as quickly as possible, the Libraries Fixer app is your best bet.

As far as we can tell, Microsoft has not mentioned anything about the removal of Libraries from the new File Explorer window. It could be that it is a bug, or it could be that Microsoft has plans to bring it back in a future update. If you want to get Libraries back in your new File Explorer window, you can simply follow any of the methods mentioned above.

However, keep in mind that this is a beta version of Windows 10, which means that there are going to be a lot of bugs that need to be fixed. Therefore, it is possible that Microsoft will simply bring Libraries back to the new File Explorer window in a future update.
