I’ve been making a similar dish for years. However, 30 minutes at 350 degrees won’t cut it. I cook for 45 minutes at 450 degrees and get nice, crispy skin. The thigh is still tender and juicy, and little fat is present.

I’ve used this recipe for years. I always used butter as a first basting on my chicken. In addition, if I don’t have onion flakes, I use onion powder.

Added the salt, pepper, paprika, and butter, and then, through some experience and COMMON SENSE, I added some baking time. It is obvious that, unless the thighs are extremely small, this amount of time is insufficient for baking bone-in thighs. A thermometer is a great idea to use if you’re a beginner, as the recipe suggests. I don’t understand why someone fails a recipe because they can’t tell when a piece of meat is undercooked. I apologize for the outburst.

This is one of those recipes that you can change up how you want, but the basic recipe method is great. I used legs and thighs. I didn’t measure the spices, just sprinkled liberally over both sides and added paprika, black pepper and kosher salt. I drizzled just half a tablespoon of butter over the top. I served it with couscous and was able to spoon some of the pan drippings over it. I also served it with “Fresh Corn and Zucchini Saute” from this site. Very nice meal.

The family liked the meal I prepared last night when I served it for dinner. Despite claiming she doesn’t like chicken thighs, Darling Daughter still consumed some of them. We served it with corn and a spinach salad, and it comes together quickly as a meal. Because I was out of onion flakes, I made do with finely chopped sweet onion, which I believe was a good substitution. Gratitude for the recipe. I’ll include this in my rotation. Yolanda.

I cooked the chicken at 450 degrees as advised by another reviewer. I put a rack over a pan and put the chicken on it. Unfortunately, I got distracted and ended up cooking it for an hour rather than the intended 40 to 45 minutes. Extremely excessive. It definitely needed some salt, or perhaps, as another review suggested, I should have brushed the chicken with melted butter, but I used the spices listed in the recipe along with black pepper. I gave it a perfect score of five stars because the idea for crispy oven-baked chicken was sound; it just needed some fine-tuning.

Since I didn’t actually make the recipe, I’m sorry, but I can’t give this five stars; I just used it as a guide. I used six boneless, skinless chicken thighs. I heated the thighs in the pan with about a tablespoon of vegetable oil. I followed that by adding 1 teaspoon of salt and about 4 teaspoons of old bay seasoning. I followed advice from others and cooked it at 450 degrees for about 40 minutes. The results are fantastic; they will be extremely crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside.

This recipe was fantastic and incredibly simple. It is easily adaptable to your preferred level of heat. I made enough chicken to try half of it with a rack and half without because I had enough. On half of each, plain flour was used, and on the other, panko or seasoned breadcrumbs. Unexpectedly, the ones without the rack were juicier and had a non-greasy texture. It took around 25 minutes for each side of my skinless, boneless thighs. I can’t wait to try this recipe again with chicken breast to see if it tastes just as good.

Reading the other reviews serves as further evidence that you must adjust your cooking times according to the type of chicken you’re using. The results would have been worse than chicken jerky, according to everyone who said 45 to 50 minutes. For me, the cooking time with thawed, bone-in, pre-brined thighs was around 18 minutes. Fortunately, I used an instant read digital thermometer to check my thighs at 13 minutes (my usual cook time with breasts), saving them from being ruined.

This is very similar to the chicken seasoning I always use. In addition to dry Italian seasoning mix, I also use sea salt, freshly ground black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. I just liberally sprinkle the chicken on all sides until it is thoroughly coated without measuring first. Any cut of chicken, including a whole bird and your favorite pieces, is made flavorful and delectable with a natural pan sauce that is so good that you can thicken it if you prefer more gravy. Because it doesn’t instruct you to season with salt and pepper, that’s the only reason I only gave this recipe three stars. I can’t imagine not seasoning any protein with SandP; regardless of the spices you use, it would just taste bland. In addition, it requires more time to cook. particularly if using bone in the thighs. More appropriately, 45 to 55 minutes. I like my skin to be crispy, so I set my convection oven to 375, which is equivalent to 400 in a conventional oven, and bake for about 45 minutes on a pan or baking sheet large enough so that the pieces don’t touch. every single time is flawless.

Did not really work for me. Your “come on” picture looks nothing like the finished recipe picture. The latter looked more like what I ended up with. Not a bit of brown or crisp on the skin. In the “come on” picture, the chicken skin and surrounding juices in the baking dish clearly is not what is representative of the graphic shown with the recipe, where the skin is clearly pale and not browned, after the thighs had already been baked for more than 60 minutes . I discarded theuncooked skin and was able to enjoy the meat. However, the end result was relatively unremarkable and overall disappointing, requiring salt, pepper, lemon juice… This gets a 3 star.
